Terry Redlin

Born on a farm in Watertown, South Dakota, Terry Redlin quickly rose to become one of America’s most recognizable artists. His defining Romantic Realist style depicted rural American life in a way that resonated with millions, and by the 1990’s he was one of the world’s best-selling artists. A lifelong conservationist, Terry donated prints to Ducks Unlimited, which ultimately helped raise over $28 million for the organization. In the early 80’s, Terry’s son asked him to stop selling his original paintings, so that one day all of them could be housed in one place for everyone to enjoy. He did just that, and in 1997, the Redlin Art Center opened in Watertown. Today the Center houses 170 original Redlin’s. There are 44 still in private collections.
